Dr Andreas Glarner’s work focuses on advising international companies in the technology sector. He is particularly well versed in DLT, fintech and blockchain matters. As co-head of the MME DLT/fintech team, he understands the business needs and the cutting-edge technology setups of his clients and supports implementing these in a constantly adapting regulatory landscape (eg, financial market regulations, AML). He advises some of the world’s leading protocol and application development projects, payment and wallet providers as well as exchanges.
Andreas Glarner also leads the firm's IP and digital services group. In this context, he has particular experience in the sectors of gaming, new technology, advertising and fashion products – and advising on intellectual property, unfair competition, advertising, licensing, distribution, as well as information technology and data protection laws.
Andreas Glarner is member of AIPPI, INGRES, ITechLaw and International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL). He serves as executive committee member of the Multichain Asset Managers Association and is on the advisory board of various fintech companies.
After studying law at the University of Zurich, he received his doctorate at the University of Zurich in the field of copyright and technology law (2001) and became a member of the Bar association in Zurich in 2005. He obtained a second master’s degree (LLM) at King’s College London, focusing on IP and competition law. Andreas Glarner speaks German, English and French.
Andreas Glarner has published various articles on topics related to his practice areas. He is a regular speaker at international conferences and a lecturer at the Lucerne University for applied science and arts (CAS Blockchain).
