Andreas Ebert-Weidenfeller's expertise lies in providing strategic advice on all aspects of trademark and design protection, including availability searches and review of advertising campaigns and product launches. He manages trademark portfolios, including filing, registration and cancellation proceedings. Another special area of activity is unfair competition law, in particular with regard to unfair commercial practices. Andreas Ebert-Weidenfeller is also involved in infringement proceedings in the areas of trademark, design and unfair competition law.
Andreas Ebert-Weidenfeller has been active in the committee work of the International Trademark Association (INTA) since 2014. In the 2018/2019 term he was Chair of the Harmonization of Trademark Law and Practice Committee. He is now a member of the Publications Committee.
He is co-author of commentaries on EU trademark law, the Community Design Regulation, the Unfair Competition Act (UWG) and the Munich Lawyer's Guide to Intellectual Property Law and regularly publishes articles on intellectual property law.
According to Handelsblatt / Best Lawyers, Andreas Ebert-Weidenfeller is one of Germany's best lawyers in 2020 in the field of Intellectual Property Law. As “often recommended”, the legal publisher JUVE lists him in the ranking for trademark and unfair competition law. The magazine World Trademark Review ranked Andreas Ebert-Weidenfeller in its ranking as “trademark all-rounder” among the recommended “Individuals: anti-counterfeiting” and “recommended experts”.
