Andreas Baumann is a partner and managing director of Rödl & Partner Austria, leading its tax practice since 2017. He is qualified as lawyer, tax adviser and management consultant. Andreas has significant experience at Big Four firms, and has worked as a partner with leading European law firms such as Schönherr and Wolf Theiss since 2000.
Andreas has been advising various international PE houses and also specialises in advising companies, trusts and private clients on national and cross-border tax planning, transfer pricing, fiscal criminal law, M&A transactions and certainly ongoing tax advisory. He is a long-standing university lecturer on international taxation, as well as a member of the examination board of the Austrian Chamber of Tax Advisers. He is a regular author and speaker on topics combining international tax advisory, corporate finance, M&A and connected legal aspects.
Andreas was named 2019's tax lawyer of the year at both the ACQ Law Awards and the ACQ Global Awards – at the latter ceremony, his team also won the award for tax firm of the year. He was named tax adviser of the year the ACQ Global Awards (2018) and the ACQ Law Awards (2017). International Tax Review/World Tax named his practice Austrian tax firm of the year in 2015 and M&A tax team of the year in 2014. His team was also named best European newcomer at the ITR European Tax Awards in 2013, and won the 2019 award for leading specialists in tax consultation (Austria) at CV magazine's Corporate Excellent Awards. Andreas was named an IFCM 500 leading lawyer in 2014.
