Winston & Strawn LLP has expanded its intellectual property practice with the addition of Richard Price and Gareth Morgan, who both join the London office from Taylor Wessing LLP.
Recognised as a leading patent and trademark litigator, Price is experienced in deriving IP solutions for clients in relation to carbon emissions, water purification, genetically modified crops, medical devices, electronic equipment and computer technology, in the UK and across Europe. He has acted before the House of Lords (now the Supreme Court) and Privy Council.
Morgan has experience in all areas of contentious and non-contentious IP law with a particular focus in the life sciences and health care sector, including counselling on multi-jurisdictional patent litigation and enforcement strategies; handling contractual disputes and High Court contract litigation; providing advice on pharmaceutical product exclusivity and product lifecycle management and advising on the interpretation of EU medicines law and EMEA/MHRA guidance documentation.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Richard and Gareth to our London office,” said Tom Fitzgerald, managing partner of Winston & Strawn. “Their reputation and proven abilities in intellectual property, along with their unique blend of experience, will allow the firm to grow strategically in ways that complement our existing London presence and the firm’s global capabilities.”
“The depth that Richard and Gareth bring in nearly every area of intellectual property law enhances our global IP litigation practices that now span three continents,” added Jim Hurst, the chairman of the firm’s intellectual property group.
Both lawyers feature in The International Who’s Who of Patent Lawyers.
