Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP is to establish a new fund formation group with the hire of a four strong team from Clifford Chance LLP including Ed Gander, Nick Benson and Nigel Clark.
Based in London, the group will work closely with Weil’s funds practices in the US, Europe and Asia as part of its global private equity practice.
Weil’s executive partner Barry Wolf said, “The new London team, combined with our existing strengths in private equity, means we can now provide an integrated full service private equity practice to fund managers, private equity houses and other industry participants across Europe.”
Ed Gander has extensive experience in private investment funds establishment including private equity, funds of funds, real estate funds, and infrastructure and mezzanine funds.
Nigel Clark, who established Clifford Chance’s Middle East funds practice, specialises in private equity, funds of funds, private wealth, property and hedge funds.
Nick Benson focuses on M&A, private equity, sector energy & infrastructure, infrastructure funds and investment management.
