Nadia Darwazeh will leave O'Melveny & Myers LLP in June this year to join the secretariat of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) as counsel for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Currently based in Shanghai, Darwazeh will relocate to Paris to begin her new post, which commences on 15 June. "The last five years in China have been great both professionally and personally. But it was time for me to make a decision whether I wanted to spend the next five years in China, or go back to Europe," says Darwazeh.
She first gained experience of ICC arbitration during her appointment with Shearman & Sterling LLP in Paris and Frankfurt.
Darwazeh focuses on international arbitration and multi-jurisdictional litigation. She has considerable experience in large construction claims, merger and acquisition disputes, bankruptcy-related disputes and general commercial cases.
Darwazeh is currently featured in The International Who's Who of Commercial Arbitration.
