Offshore law firms Ozannes and Mourant du Feu & Jeune, two of the leading firms in the Channel Islands, have announced plans to merge.
Mourant Ozannes will staff more than 200 fee earners and over 50 partners practising from offices in the Cayman Islands, London, Jersey and Guernsey. The new firm will combine market-leading practices in funds and corporate law and will be headed by a management committee including representatives from both firms.
Managing partner of Mourant du Feu & Jeune, Jonathan Rigby says:
“We have always had enormous respect for Ozannes and we regard them as the leading law firm in Guernsey. The opportunity to combine premier practices in Jersey and Guernsey was too good to miss. We are very excited by this development and are looking forward to working together on our shared vision, to be consistently recognised as the leading law firm offshore.”
Subject to regulatory approval, the merger will take place on 1 May 2010.
