Leading commercial disputes lawyer Michael Hales has joined Minter Ellison as a senior legal consultant based in Perth.
He arrives from the London office of Nabarro LLP, where he was partner and chair of its international committee particularly responsible for the operation of its European alliance across France, Germany, Italy and Spain. He was also involved in the planning and opening of Nabarro’s Singapore office.

Commenting on his appointment, head of Minter Ellison’s litigation and dispute resolution division Ross Freeman said: “We are delighted to welcome a practitioner of Michael’s calibre and experience to our national dispute resolution team and to our growing team in Perth. His wide range of experience in international disputes will be particularly valuable on the ground in Western Australia given that market’s proximity to Asia’s arbitration centres and the significant international investment occurring in that state.”
Hales is listed in The International Who’s Who of Commercial Litigators.
