Michael Sheehan becomes SLM Corporation's general counsel

Leading US student loans company SLM Corporation has appointed Michael Sheehan as its new general counsel.
Sheehan joined the SLM Corporation in 1992 and served for 10 years as the company's lead securities lawyer on SEC filings and disclosures. He has led the company's legal work on corporate finance transactions and over 15 mergers and acquisitions.
SLM, most commonly known as Sallie Mae, administers nearly US$164 billion in education loans in the US and serves approximately 10 million student and parent customers.
