Blake Winburne and a team of three lawyers have joined the energy and commodities advisory group of McDermott Will & Emery LLP.
They arrive from the Houston office of Baker Botts LLP.
Winburne is an adept transactional lawyer with expertise in the downstream and midstream energy sectors. He is experienced in projects involving electric power and renewable energy, oil, natural gas and refined products infrastructure, and is nationally recognised for his project finance and M&A work.
Most recently, he served as seller’s counsel in the partial sell-down and joint venture arrangements associated with the development, construction and operation of a wind-power generating facility in Indiana. He has also represented project sponsors in the refinancing and restructuring of project-financed electricity-generating facilities in Texas and throughout Latin America.
He features in the International Who’s Who of Project Finance Lawyers.
Winburne says: “McDermott is recognised around the world for its energy regulatory and commodities practice, with a depth of experience and a breadth of client relationships that are difficult to match. We are thrilled with the opportunity to join McDermott and continue the firm’s commitment of service to the global energy industry.”
