McCarthy Tétrault LLP has welcomed leading competition expert Neil Finkelstein to its Toronto office effective 1 June.
Finkelstein's addition to the team increases the number of competition partners in the firm to 12.
He joins from Blake Cassels & Graydon LLP where he served in both the litigation group and the competition, antitrust and foreign investment group. Finkelstein has a well-respected practice with vast experience as lead counsel in many Canadian competition, securities, constitutional, pension, commercial and tax cases at all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada.
His track record includes acting as counsel in over 60 appeals and 80 major trials and hearings in courts and senior administrative tribunals across Canada.
In addition, he has successfully counselled five of the six contested merger cases under the Competition Act as well as some of Canada's leading takeover cases.
Finkelstein is featured in The International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers & Economists and The International Who's Who of Commercial Litigators.
