McCarthy Tétrault has added five tax and oil and gas lawyers in its Calgary office including top energy lawyer Craig Spurn.
The group previously made up the Calgary boutique firm, Venn Law.
Spurn practices corporate and commercial law in the energy sector with a focus on oil and gas transactions and projects.
He has worked with clients on energy related matters in various industries ranging from the Canadian and foreign energy resource sectors to the service and technology industries as well as with private capital firms.
His recent representative matters include Harvest Energy Trust’s acquisition of the Come By Chance crude oil refinery from Vitol. He also advised Sinopec on its acquisition and partnership with Syneco Energy in the Northern Lights oil sands project in 2005.
“With these lawyers on our team, we can provide even better service to our growing domestic and international oil and gas practice,” said Greg Turnbull, regional managing partner for McCarthy Tétrault in Alberta.
Spurn is featured in the Oil and Gas chapter of Who’s Who Legal: Canada.
