Pre-eminent finance lawyer Maurice Allen will be leading the new London office of Ropes & Gray LLP alongside his partner Mike Goetz from January 2010.
Allen co-headed the banking practice group at White & Case LLP, before leaving in 2008 to join Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP as a partner in the firm’s international finance practice.
For more than 25 years, Allen has focused on the London finance market, with an emphasis on complex transactions and cross-border financings. He has extensive experience in acquisition finance and regularly represents major banks in matters such as acquisition finance, telecoms financings, structured/illiquid credits, restructuring and workouts.
“Ropes & Gray is an elite firm with an extraordinary platform in the global equity and debt marketplace,” said Allen. “Drawing on our familiarity with the sophisticated London finance market, Mike and I will bring our wealth of experience to bear on behalf of the firm’s clients. This is a terrific fit for us and the firm.”
He features in The International Who’s Who of Banking Lawyers.
