Philip Punwar is to join the Dubai office of Fulbright & Jaworski LLP, on 15 July.
He joins the international firm from UAE based Al Tamimi & Company, where he was a member of the arbitration group.
Punwar has practised in Dubai for over three years. Prior to that, he spent time in Paris and Hong Kong and practised as a barrister in London.
Currently a door tenant at 39 Essex Street Chambers in London, Punwar says that his new firm is one that he has "known and respected for many years".
As part of his practice, Punwar counsels government bodies, local and foreign businesses and foreign law firms in a broad range of disputes under English, UAE, Dubai International Financial Centre and International law rules. He also worked with the UAE Ministry of Economy on the preparation of a new federal arbitration law and he regularly sits as an arbitrator in local and foreign arbitration proceedings.
He has represented clients in various industries, including banking, construction, commercial property and energy.
