Michael Salinger has joined Charles River Associates (CRA) in Boston as a senior academic adviser in the competition practice.
He joins from LECG where he spent just over three years and was manager of the Cambridge, Massachusetts office.
Salinger has a breadth of experience consulting for private organisations and government agencies, including the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.
He also served as a director of the US Federal Trade Commission’s bureau of economics from 2005 until 2007. During this time he led investigations of petroleum and pharmaceuticals, and led inquiries of potential price gouging after Hurricane Katrina.
CRA chief executive, Paul Maleh, says of Salinger, “His dual perspective – having worked in both environments [government agencies and private organisations] – brings value to clients as does his substantial expertise in his respective area of economic and litigation consulting.”
“Charles River Associates is a company I have admired for decades,” Salinger adds. “When I was at the FTC, I witnessed first hand the high quality of the work they presented to the agency.”
Salinger is featured in The International Who’s Who of Competition Lawyers & Economists.
