Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP has hired leading IP partner Mark Hodgson in its London office.
He joins from Howrey LLP where he served for over three years and was managing partner of the firm’s London office.
Hodgson specialises in advising pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology companies on intellectual property, regulatory, product liability and parallel importation matters. He has experience in all forms of licensing and in advising clients on the intellectual property aspects of acquisitions.
He has represented clients before the UK courts and the European Court of Justice in cases including Eli Lilly vs Human Genome Sciences and the House of Lords case Angiotech vs Conor Medsystems.
Hodgson’s appointment is part of Field Fisher Waterhouse’s strategy to develop its IP & technology, corporate and regulatory practices. His appointment will build on the patent litigation side of the practice as well as the firm’s cross-practice life sciences capability.
Nick Rose, partner and head of the IP & technology dispute resolution practice at Field Fisher Waterhouse, said: “Mark will be a significant addition to the team, enabling us to expand our patent litigation capability to match our expertise in other areas of IP such as trade marks.”
Hodgson is featured in The International Who’s Who of Patent Lawyers and The International Who’s Who of Life Sciences Lawyers.
