Fabio Spina is hired as GC of global mining company

The former vice president of investor relations to the global brewer InBev has left to become general counsel of the world's largest iron mining company, Vale.
Fabio Spina began his new role on 23 March 2009 returning to Brazil from Belgium where he was based with the brewing company. He replaces Pedro Freitas who left Vale to join Veirano Advogados as a partner.
Prior to joining InBev, Spina held a number of managerial positions for pulp and paper maker Suzano before being appointed general counsel and vice president. He has also worked in private practice with law firms including Arnold & Porter LLP and Fischer & Forster and Ferronato Abogados (now Fischer & Forster Advogados) in São Paulo.
