Elizabeth Chandler is named GC of Asbury Automotive Group

US automobile retailer Asbury Automotive Group has named Elizabeth Chandler as its new general counsel and vice president.
Chandler brings over 20 years of transactional and governance experience to her new role. She served as a lawyer for the Franklin Administration and was also responsible for a team of lawyers who managed the city and council's day-to-day legal matters reporting directly to the Mayor and city counsel. Chandler has also previously acted as assistant general counsel, vice president and corporate secretary of energy company Mirant Corporation, and as a partner with Troutman Sanders LLP.
In her new role, Chandler, who replaces Lynne Burgess, will work alongside the company's board of directors and management team. She takes up the post on 13 May 2009.
