Ignacio Suarez Anzorena has moved to Chadbourne & Parke LLP as a partner in its Washington, DC, office.
Joining as a member of the firm’s international dispute resolution practice, he will focus on international arbitration and investor-state disputes working alongside a team of lawyers in disciplines such as project finance, energy and construction in Latin America and other emerging markets.
Suarez Anzorena was formerly special counsel in the international arbitration group at Clifford Chance LLP, also based in Washington.
Commenting on his new firm, Suarez says: “It has a very strong international projects and energy practice that is second to none, a dynamic Latin American practice with seven partners devoting most of their time to the region, and a growing IDR group.”
Prior to entering private practice, Suarez worked for the Solicitor General’s Office in Buenos Aires where he advised the state on a variety of contractual and treaty-based international arbitrations.
He has been involved in several disputes conducted under the rules of institutions including the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, the International Chamber of Commerce, the American Arbitration Association and the London Court of International Arbitration.
