Bird & Bird LLP hires leading telecoms lawyer in London

Bird & Bird LLP has welcomed a leading telecoms lawyer to its London office.
Tim Schwarz joins as a partner in the international communications team, which comprises more than 120 lawyers across Europe and Asia. He will focus primarily on strengthening the firm's telecoms practice in the Middle East and Africa. Schwarz joins from the London office of Linklaters LLP where he was global head of technology media and telecoms and intellectual property group.
Commenting on his new firm, Schwarz says, "I am delighted to be joining Bird & Bird. I have been a big admirer of the firm for many years and look forward to extending its excellent reputation into exciting new markets."
Schwarz will be working together with regulatory and internet law expert Frédérique Dupuis-Toubol who is also the head of the communications group. She says, "Tim is a fantastic appointment for the firm as he adds real strength to what is already a market leading position in telecoms. He adds real strength to our international capacity and we have a lot of potential infrastructure and corporate projects in emerging markets to explore together."
Schwarz will also spend time as a part-time general counsel of the pre-IPO technology-focused Chinese healthcare company Sinocare group.
