Leading competition expert Samir Gandhi has joined AZB & Partners in New Delhi after seven years with Economic Laws Practice.
Gandhi says that he still has the “highest regard” for his former colleagues at ELP who have supported and encouraged the growth of his practice from very early on. “The change was prompted primarily by the need for greater involvement in high-value merger clearances at the CCI, which AZB, as a top-notch M&A firm, is ideally placed to offer," he says.
Gandhi deals with a broad range of competition law and policy issues, as well as international trade and World Trade Organisation matters. Advising on every area of competition law, he has worked closely with the Competition Commission of India as counsel in major litigation at various courts and tribunals, including the Competition Appellate Tribunal and the Supreme Court of India.
Ajay Bahl, a partner at AZB & Partners, said: “We are delighted that Samir is joining us. The significant experience he brings and specialised focus he will provide will greatly supplement and add value to our existing team and provide additional impetus to this important practice area at AZB.”
Gandhi is listed in The International Who’s Who of Competition Lawyers & Economists and The International Who’s Who of Trade & Customs Lawyers.
