Julie Jacobs has been promoted to executive vice president and general counsel of internet service provider AOL.
She will be based in New York and will manage the legal department and provide counsel to senior management on a range of issues.
Jacobs joined AOL in 2000 from Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy LLP, where she represented foreign and domestic clients in connection with major financings, transactions, securities offerings and restructurings.
Most recently she served as senior vice president and deputy general counsel at AOL where she managed all the corporate and transactional legal work for the company, including securities law compliance, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions.
“I have seen AOL grow from an internet service provider to a world-class content, advertising and consumer applications company and look forward to working with our talented global team of lawyers and our senior management to address the priorities that will shape AOL’s future and the next stage of our company’s growth,” Jacobs said.
