Elaine Johnston has joined the New York office of Allen & Overy LLP as the leader of its US antitrust practice. She joins from White & Case LLP.
Johnston has over 22 years of experience in antitrust, including coordinating US, European and other foreign antitrust clearances on complex cross-border deals.
She also handles a range of matters in antitrust litigation and M&A and counsels on issues such as unilateral conduct and licensing.
She is currently representing parties in connection with mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures before the US Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission.
Commenting on her move, Johnston says: “I saw tremendous synergies with my practice and expertise, which made this a very compelling opportunity. Allen & Overy provides a great platform for me to serve my existing clients -much of the work I do has international aspects where I will be able to draw on the A&O [global network].”
She features in The International Who’s Who of Competition Lawyers & Economists.
