Sara Lee promotes Hart to GC

Brett Hart, the former assistant general counsel and senior vice president of Sara Lee has been promoted to general counsel and executive vice president of the corporation.
Based in Downers Grove, Illinois, Hart will be responsible for all of the company's worldwide legal activities. He replaces Peggy Foran, who left the corporation for personal reasons.
In 2005 Hart was promoted to deputy general counsel and global business practices officer where he led the company's governance activities including SEC transactions, shareholder services, ERISA/benefits and immigration employment law.
Prior to joining the corporation in 2003, Hart was a partner with Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP in Chicago and before that he was special assistant to the general counsel at the US department of the treasury in Washington, DC.
