Maxim Kulkov has joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP as head of arbitration and litigation in Moscow.
His role will also see him act as Russian head of the global investigations practice, which focuses on helping multinationals to develop compliance procedures and deal with cross-border regulatory investigations concerning antitrust, anti-bribery and financial reporting.
He joins from Goltsblat BLP where he led the Russian disputes practice for approximately three years.
Kulkov has represented an array of leading commercial organisations including ING Bank, Brunswick Rail Leasing, Estee Lauder and IKEA. He has acted in ICC, LCIA and SCC arbitrations, as well as advising on investment treaty, IP, international trade and conflict of laws issues.
Commenting on his move, Kulkov says: “The main reason for my move to Freshfields is to take on higher-scale disputes,” also mentioning that he looks forward to “developing my team and my practice.”
Goltsblat BLP managing partner Andrey Goltsblat says, “We thank Maxim for his contribution and wish him every success in his new job.”
