Ali Al-Ahmad is a senior director at FTI Consulting based in Toronto, Canada. As a member of the construction solutions practice, he specialises in evaluating delays and damages on large-scale projects.
Mr Al-Ahmad has been retained as an expert in litigation and arbitration proceedings. His experience has spanned a variety of construction projects, ranging in scale from CAD$10 million to $12 billion, including highways, bridges, light rail transit, hospitals, airports, mines, oil refineries and hydroelectric generating stations. His clients include contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, public and private developers and law firms.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr Al-Ahmad spent eight years at a boutique firm offering dispute resolution services to the Canadian construction industry. He has delivered presentations on delay analysis techniques at industry association conferences. Other speaking engagements include serving as a panellist on improving the communication and relationship between subject matter experts and lawyers.
Mr Al-Ahmad earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with a specialisation in civil infrastructure from Concordia University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from McGill University. He is a professional engineer in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec and is certified as a project management professional by the Project Management Institute. He is fluent in English and French.
