Biography:

Who's Who Legal Competition: Economists

Anne Perrot is a partner at MAPP, which was acquired by KPMG in 2018. With teams of competition economists in the UK, France, Spain and Belgium, KPMG Economics is one of Europe's leading economics consulting firms. Anne is based in the Paris office.

Since joining MAPP in 2012, Anne has been involved in a wide range of merger and antitrust cases before the European Commission and national authorities, as well as in damage cases before various civil and administrative jurisdictions. Anne has recently been involved in the notification of the acquisition of Darty by FNAC, the notification of the acquisition of GE Water by Suez and several antitrust investigations in the air and rail transportation sector.

Anne was previously the vice president of the French Competition Authority (2004–2012). She belonged to several public think tanks on competition policy, such as the economic advisory group on competition policy (before the European Commission) or the “group of experts” of the French energy regulator (CRE). In particular, she was involved in the working group devoted to the “effect-based approach” in the analysis of the behaviour of dominant firms. She also was a member of several commissions appointed by the French government on subjects such as telecoms deregulation.

Anne is a professor of economics at the University of Paris I (Sorbonne) and ENSAE ParisTech. She was the head of the Centre for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST), a research centre of about 20 researchers specialised in industrial organisation, competition policy and regulation from 1997 to 2004. She also taught at the Paris School of Economics, the Brussels School of Competition and Sciences Po Paris. In 2014, she was appointed "corresponding member" of the Conseil d'Analyse Économique, a group of economists in charge of providing independent expert advice to the French Prime Minister.

Anne holds a PhD in mathematics from the University Paris VI and a PhD in economics from the University of Paris I.

WWL says: Anne Perrot is a exceptional economist who excels in a number of areas including market strategy and analysis.
