Who's Who Legal Consulting Experts: Experts - Digital & Data - Data and E-Discovery Experts

Tanya has spent the past decade managing investigations and disputes that involve data (unstructured, structured and semi-structured formats). She has led large-scale evidence and disclosure management exercises in the UK, France, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Japan, the Middle East and the US.

As head of Navigant's global legal technology solutions practice in London, Tanya leads the team’s client delivery and practice development efforts across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and the Asian Pacific (APAC), including e-discovery, digital forensics, information security, structured analytics, and custom solutions.

One of Tanya's strengths is leading and developing teams. She contributed to the growth and expansion of Navigant’s London team, ensuring they deliver a broad variety of work in line with the global practice; more recently, Tanya spent time in Hong Kong to set up Navigant’s legal technology operations in the region. This provided the global team with a regional base to deliver work, expanding on the team’s global presence through the implementation of 24/7 working, delivering seamless support to clients where large data volumes exist.

As an accomplished practitioner, Tanya conveys the technical detail in a language her clients understand. Having worked in the industry for a long period, Tanya has a thorough understanding of the challenges involved in managing large-scale data management exercises and has become a trusted adviser in her field. Her experience covers a wide variety of clients in both the private and public sector, including financial services, construction, retail and manufacturing, and a wide variety of issues including arbitration, litigation, intellectual property, fraud, antitrust/competition, regulatory and employment matters.

Tanya has a solid understanding of systems and data and the way they should be preserved, harvested, tracked and prepared for investigations. It’s important that each step is appropriately validated. Tanya’s extensive experience supporting investigations allows her to identify gaps in current procedures and suggest practical and tangible improvements.

Tanya has extensive experience of market leading technology solutions that are used to preserve, process and search data for investigations. These solutions include but are not limited to Relativity, Clearwell, Discovery Accelerator, Nuix and EnCase Enterprise. Tanya is able to design the appropriate procedures and workflows which assist corporations in using these solutions effectively and design methodologies to migrate data from systems where there is a requirement.

Tanya has worked on several data consulting engagements in the financial services and energy sector, all of which have involved assessing how clients can improve their data harvesting techniques and e-discovery processes by providing recommendations to reduce cost and mitigate risk.

Tanya’s experience also includes working on a consulting engagement with a large energy organisation. This involved assessing the organisation’s historical approach to e-discovery, understanding its policies around information and data governance and providing recommendations on its approach to e-discovery going forward. This involved information gathering, interviewing stakeholders and providing a report of recommendations to their general counsel.

Before joining Navigant in December 2013, Tanya worked at KPMG (2005–2013 and 1998–2005) and McGrigors (2005). She is a certified Clearwell administrator, and is also Comptia Network+ certified and Comptia A+ certified.
