Who's Who Legal Switzerland - TMT

Samuel Klaus is a senior associate in Schellenberg Wittmer's information and communication technology and intellectual property group in Zurich. He advises clients regarding technology projects, outsourcing transactions and in all matters related to software development, licensing, e-commerce and data protection and data privacy issues, in particular related to new technologies (such as blockchain, building information modelling (BIM) and internet of things (IoT) matters).

Some recent examples of Samuel's expertise in TMT include:

- Advising Manor Group in all matters related to ICT and data protection, including drafting relevant contracts and conducting negotiation with the vendors to purchase a new IT platform;

- Advising and representation of Valora in a dispute with service provider T-Systems related to the partial termination and migration of services what could become a landmark judgement;

- Advising Bayer Consumer Care and Bayer Switzerland in all data protection matters including the introduction of new technologies, devices, data centralisation projects, data privacy aspects of programmatic buying programs as well as the Swiss and US Privacy Shield, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, and the revision of the Swiss Data Protection Act.
