Who's Who Legal Competition: Future Leaders - Partners

Trained in both Europe and the US, Daniel Bitton advises and represents clients in antitrust litigation, government investigations, and mergers and acquisitions, often across many different jurisdictions. Since joining Axinn in 2004, Daniel has built an extensive and global antitrust practice, acting as antitrust counsel to Fortune 500 clients such as McKesson, Dell, Google, Johnson Controls and Thermo Fisher in high-stakes matters.

Daniel is currently leading the global antitrust clearance efforts for Johnson Controls in its US$2 billion sale of its Scott Safety business to 3M. He is regular antitrust counsel to McKesson and recently led the efforts to secure clearance from the US Department of Justice for McKesson’s US$3.4 billion healthcare technology joint venture with Change Healthcare. Since 2010, Daniel has also been regular antitrust counsel to Google.

Daniel also has significant litigation experience. He has represented numerous clients in antitrust cases in Federal Court and government antitrust investigations, including FTC Section 5 investigations and federal cartel class actions.

Daniel has used his antitrust expertise and litigation skills to the benefit of the firm’s pro bono clients and the American Bar Association.

Daniel is regularly quoted by influential business and legal publications. He also regularly publishes and speaks on international antitrust matters, both in English and Dutch. Daniel has spoken and written extensively on Chinese antitrust law and policy.

In 2016, Daniel was nominated for a prestigious Concurrences Antitrust Writing Award for the article, “Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle, Extraterritoriality and Comity” (The Sedona Conference Journal, 2015, co-authored with John Briggs).

WWL says: Daniel Bitton comes highly recommended for his "top-notch analytical ability with strong client skills and excellent commercial awareness".
