Julie Catala Marty joined Franklin in 2015 to create its competition-distribution department. Since 2000, she has been representing clients before French and European competition authorities and French ordinary courts.
Her experience covers anticompetitive and restrictive practices, distribution law, state aid and merger control. She also assists her clients in damages actions (private enforcement) before ordinary courts. She is regularly mandated on the most cutting-edge cases, both in merger control (complex horizontal mergers, gun-jumping issues) and anticompetitive practices (cartels, abuses of dominance). She has extensive experience in the field of dawn raids, including on the upstream preparation and management of inspections by competition authorities
Julie’s practice spans a variety of industries. She is recognised for her expertise in the fields of network industries (telecommunications, transport, energy), media and television, luxury goods, aviation, building materials and heavy industries.
Julie also contributes to various publications and is a member of several associations such as the French Competition Lawyers’ Association and the French Association for the Study of Competition. She is a frequent speaker at antitrust conferences and seminars.
