Emmanuel Kaufman is a partner at KNOETZL, a leading Austrian firm specialised in arbitration litigation, alternative dispute resolution, business crime and corporate crisis management.

Emmanuel has over 10 years' experience as counsel in high-value and complex construction, commercial and investment arbitrations in the CEE, SEE and Latin America. He has handled a vast number of arbitration cases under a wide range of the arbitral institutions rules, including ICC, ISCID and VIAC, as well as ad hoc arbitration under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.

Emmanuel has successfully acted as counsel for national and multinational clients in complex arbitration proceedings concerning major business projects and construction contracts, as well as concession, joint venture, M&A and sales agreements. His expertise spans across various fields, including engineering and construction, international sales, IT outsourcing, energy, railways and telecommunications infrastructure. A special focus of his practice are construction disputes under FIDIC contracts and the evaluation of delay analysis as well as the quantification of damages in high–value disputes.

Emmanuel is admitted to practice as an attorney-at-law in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and holds a law degree from the University of Buenos Aires.

Emmanuel regularly speaks on topics related to arbitration in Europe and Latin America and is recommended by his arbitration and construction arbitration practice. He is the president of the German - Austrian chapter of the Club Español del Arbitraje (Spanish Club of Arbitration, CEA).

Emmanuel Kaufman is a partner at KNOETZL, based in Vienna, Austria.

Emmanuel is an Argentinean attorney-at-law with over 10 years’ experience in high-value and complex arbitrations. Emmanuel’s expertise spans across various industries, including engineering and construction, rail and telecommunications.

Emmanuel has successfully represented both national and multinational clients in arbitration proceedings involving major infrastructure projects and turnkeys, as well as concession, joint venture and FIDIC contracts. He also has experience in delay analysis and quantification of damages in large, high-stake construction disputes.

Emmanuel has handled a vast number of arbitration cases under a wide range of arbitration rules, including the rules of Arbitration of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (Vienna Rules), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and UNCITRAL.

Emmanuel has acted as counsel in some of the largest and most challenging arbitration proceedings relating to disputes in CEE and SEE regions and Latin America. Most notably, he has achieved great success in a landmark case concerning the construction of fibre-optic pipes, which led to a settlement in excess of several hundred-million euros.

Emmanuel holds a law degree from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and is a member of the Attorney Bar Association of Buenos Aires, ICC Young Arbitrators Forum, Association of Young Austrian Arbitration Practitioners, Young International Arbitration Group, and Club Español del Arbitraje.
