Who's Who Legal Arbitration: Future Leaders - Partners

Anne-Karin Grill is a partner at Schoenherr and a member of the Austrian Bar. She specialises in international dispute resolution and ADR and advises clients in both commercial litigation and arbitration proceedings, the latter in accordance with the rules of the world's leading arbitration institutions (ICC, VIAC, DIS, Swiss Chambers, LCIA, etc). She has also built an excellent track record as counsel in investor-state arbitrations conducted under both the ICSID and UNCITRAL Rules. Anne-Karin regularly serves as (sole) arbitrator in multi-jurisdictional arbitrations and acts as counsel or CEDR-accredited mediator in international commercial mediation proceedings.

Furthermore, Anne-Karin is a lecturer at the University of Vienna and a regular speaker on dispute resolution topics. She has authored a number of publications on the subject, the most recent focusing on the effective use of mediation as a tool of international dispute management.

Anne-Karin earned her law degree from the University of Vienna (Mag iur, 2001) and holds a master’s degree from Georgetown University (MA in international security studies, Fulbright fellow, 2004). Before pursuing her career as an attorney she worked at the legal advisory department of the Austrian Mission to the United Nations in New York. She speaks German, English, French and Swedish.

Schoenherr is one of the top corporate law firms in central and eastern Europe. The firm has established itself as a leading practice for commercial arbitration and mediation matters in Austria and beyond. Schoenherr's dispute resolution specialists advise clients in complex disputes across sectors and are recognised for their creative solutions and effective case management. The lawyers subscribe to an integrated, cross-method approach to dispute resolution that takes into account all established methods of alternative dispute resolution.

WWL says: Anne-Karin Grill excels on the international stage as "a strong presence that cannot go unnoticed. She exudes competence in a wide variety of arbitration matters and is known to be a hard worker in everything she takes up".
