Dr Anna Kozmenko is a senior associate in Schellenberg Wittmer's dispute resolution group. She has represented states, state-owned entities and private companies in complex multi-jurisdictional disputes across a wide range of sectors with particular emphasis on natural resources, energy, telecommunications, engineering and construction. Dr Kozmenko's experience as counsel, arbitrator and legal secretary to arbitral tribunals includes numerous international commercial and investment arbitrations, both ad hoc and institutional (under the ICC, LCIA, SCC, VIAC, AAA/ICDR, UNCITRAL, ICSID, ICSID Additional Facility and Swiss Rules) at various seats and under a broad range of applicable laws.
Dr Kozmenko is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Arkansas School of Law, where she teaches international commercial arbitration. She regularly speaks and publishes on international commercial and investment arbitration. Dr Kozmenko currently serves as a member of the global advisory board of the ICDR Young & International and as the past co-chair of the American Bar Association's Russia-Eurasia committee. She is also a member of other professional associations, including the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum and the LCIA Young International Arbitration Group. In 2014-2016, Dr Kozmenko was named among top arbitration practitioners by the Russian Arbitration Association's Below 40 chapter.
Prior to joining Schellenberg Wittmer, Dr Kozmenko worked for several years as an associate at a leading international law firm in Paris and New York. She graduated with highest honours from Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (BA, MA and SJD degrees) and obtained an LLM degree in International Dispute Settlement from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva (MIDS).
