Biography:

Who's Who Legal Arbitration: Future Leaders - Non-partners

Anna-Maria is a member of Hannes Snellman’s dispute resolution group working from both Helsinki and Stockholm.

Anna-Maria has experience in mediating, litigating and arbitrating commercial disputes in the fields of general commercial law, international sales, post-M&A, competition law, telecoms and energy under the ICC Rules, SCC Rules, FAI Rules, Vienna Rules, LCIA Rules, DIA Rules, UNCITRAL and PCA Rules. Anna-Maria also advises clients with regard to potential commercial and investment disputes and on the recognition, enforcement and setting aside of arbitral awards.

Anna-Maria acts as arbitrator in both domestic and international disputes. Anna-Maria’s experience includes serving as sole and co-arbitrator, also under expedited arbitration rules.

Anna-Maria is admitted to practise as an attorney in Finland and the state of New York. Before joining Hannes Snellman, Anna-Maria worked for several years as a foreign associate in the international arbitration group of WilmerHale in London. Anna-Maria is fluent in English, Finnish, Swedish, German and French.

Anna-Maria is a co-chair of the Young International Arbitration Group sponsored by the LCIA and a member of the ICC commission on arbitration and ADR. She is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of International Arbitration and a reporter for Finland on the ITA Board of Reporters. Anna-Maria has taught arbitration courses at the University of Helsinki, Stockholm University and the Austrian Arbitration Academy.

Anna-Maria holds a master of laws degree from the University of Turku, with an exchange year at the University of Vienna, and an LLM in international business regulation, litigation and arbitration from New York University School of Law, where she was a Fulbright scholar.
