Markus Schifferl is a partner of zeiler.partners. His principal areas of practice include international arbitration and corporate/commercial litigation. He has acted as arbitrator, counsel and secretary to the arbitral tribunal in more than 40 arbitrations, among others under the ICC, UNCITRAL, DIS and Vienna Rules (VIAC). Markus regularly acts as party representative in corporate and commercial proceedings before Austrian courts. He advises clients in all areas, with a particular focus on disputes regarding corporations and private foundations, post-M&A, joint ventures and construction law. He is fluent in German (native) and English.
Markus is a board member of the Young Austrian Arbitration Practitioners (YAAP) and member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. Markus is the author of numerous legal publications (inter alia, a co-author of Austrian Arbitration Law, 2016) and regularly talks about arbitration and litigation. He is a listed arbitrator of VIAC.
Markus received his legal education at the University of Graz (Mag iur 2002), Sciences-Po Paris, University College London (LLM in dispute resolution 2004) and the University of Vienna (Dr iur 2006).
