Lisa Beisteiner is a founding partner of Her practice focuses on national and international arbitration with a particular focus on energy law. With some 10 years of experience in all aspects of commercial and investment arbitration under various sets of rules, including the ICC Rules of Arbitration, the Vienna Rules (VIAC), UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules and ICSID rules, Lisa is frequently active as an arbitrator and also appears as counsel before the national courts. Prior to working with, Lisa, inter alia, was an attorney at a major Vienna-seated international law firm, worked as a senior consultant for PwC and gained experience at the European Court of Justice as well as in the in-house legal department of the Austrian legal publishing house Manz.

Lisa regularly speaks at conferences on arbitration-related topics and publishes in her field. For example, she has co-authored a commentary on Austrian arbitration law (edited by Zeiler, 2016); authored “The (Perceived) Power of the Arbitrator to Revise the Contract”, an extensive treatise on the power of the arbitrator to revise commercial contracts, in the Austrian Yearbook on International Arbitration (edited by Klausegger et al, 2014); and published a comprehensive monograph in the field of compensation for damages  (Angehörigenschmerzengeld – Der Ersatz von Schock- und Trauerschäden bei Tötung oder schwerer Verletzung naher Angehöriger, 2009).

Lisa obtained her law degrees from the University of Vienna and the University of Essex, UK (master’s degree, 2003; and doctorate, 2008, both with distinction; winner of the Best Graduate Award from the Federal Ministry of Education 2004–2005). Lisa is a certified mediator (ZivMediatG) and has been a member of the Austrian bar since 2011 (bar exam with distinction). Lisa is fluent in English, German and French and has basic knowledge of Spanish. is a dispute resolution boutique focusing on international commercial and investment arbitration, commercial litigation and employment law. The firm has recently been very active in investment disputes, energy-related disputes and post-M&A disputes.
