Rafał Kos LLM (CUA, Washington DC) is an attorney-at-law and partner at Kubas Kos Gałkowski, a leading Polish independent law firm with offices in Warsaw and Kraków. He heads the arbitration proceedings department. Mr Kos specialises in corporate law and litigation. He possesses extensive experience in conducting trans-border court disputes as well as international arbitration.
Mr Kos is an expert on the Parliamentary Justice and Human Rights Committee in the formulation of the bill on pursuing claims in class actions (2009). He is also a member of the Minister of Justice Team for the Amendment of the Bankruptcy and Rehabilitation Law (2012), the Team for Systemic Solutions in the Scope of Alternative Dispute Resolutions for Commercial Matters (facilitating the performance of business activities for the Ministry of Economy) (2013) and the business law task force at the Ministry of Development (2015).
As of 2014, Mr Kos is the vice president of the Confederation Lewiatan Arbitration Court, having previously been a member of the Court’s arbitration committee. He is vice chairman of the Polish Bar Council’s foreign cooperation committee and a member of its legislative committee, as well as a member of the committee for attorney trainee training at the District Bar Council in Krakow. He is also a member of the International Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
He is recommended as a leading expert on dispute resolution. Mr Kos is a frequent panellist at domestic and international seminars and conferences on litigation and arbitration issues. He speaks Polish (native), English and German (fluent).
