Andreas is a partner and the head of the dispute resolution department of AG Erotocritou LLC, a boutique law firm based in Cyprus. He is recognised as one of the leading lawyers in Cyprus in corporate/commercial litigation and arbitration and has been praised as an excellent litigator as well as for providing outstanding service to his clients.
He is a barrister of the Middle Temple and he specialises in various fields of commercial, corporate litigation and shipping and regularly appears before the district courts and Supreme Court in Cyprus representing prominent local and international clients, mostly in disputes with an international dimension. He has vast experience in shareholders’ disputes, corporate fraud, asset tracing, injunctive reliefs, recognition and enforcement proceedings of foreign judgments/arbitral awards, as well as in insolvency and arbitration proceedings.
Andreas also carries out pro bono work in a variety of matters and amongst others, he is handling (together with other colleagues) the massively publicised EOKA case, an action on behalf of former EOKA fighters in a claim against the British government for torture and other violations of the ECHR.
Andreas is regularly instructed by some of the largest international law firms, banking institutions and multinational corporations; on a domestic level, he usually acts on behalf some of the most prominent institutions and companies.
Andreas is a member of, among others, the Cyprus Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the Honourable Society of Middle Temple and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators MCiArb. Andreas is currently a lecturer at the law department of Frederick University in Cyprus.
Andreas has publicised extensively on various topics relating international cross-border litigation and arbitration. He has contributed to, among other publications, the Comparative Guide for Civil/Commercial Litigation and chapters on dispute resolution and arbitration in Cyprus. Moreover, he is a regular speaker in international conferences, and was recently selected as a speaker on the 28th forum on fraud, asset tracing and recovery which took place in Geneva in 2015.
In the past, Andreas has worked for Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP in London and served as second lieutenant in the Cypriot National Guard.
