Biography:

Who's Who Legal Central America - Dispute Resolution

Ulises Mejía León-Gómez is a partner at Consortium Legal – Honduras and director of the litigation and arbitration department. Currently, he is an arbitrator and certified secretary for the Conciliation and Arbitration Centre of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Tegucigalpa.

Ulises is on the list of trainers of the Judicial Academy of the Honduran Justice Department and the Conciliation and Arbitration Center of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Tegucigalpa. He teaches Negotiation, Conciliation And Arbitration on the master’s degree in business law at the Central American Technological University.

He obtained a master’s degree in commercial law from the National Autonomous University of Honduras. He also studied international business with a focus on corporate law at the Central American Institute of Business Administration (INCAE), under the supervision of Georgetown University Law Center. He is currently studying for a master’s degree in civil procedure law, developed by the Technological University of Honduras (UTH) in coordination with three different Spanish Universities. Ulises is on the list of arbitrators of Honduras within the framework of the Free Trade Agreement between El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras with Colombia. He is also on the list of arbitrators for Honduras within the framework of the Mechanism for the Settlement of Commercial Disputes among Central America of the Secretariat of Economic Integration of Central America (SIECA), proposed for the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission on behalf of Honduras.

Ulises is co-author of the chapter “Arbitraje Comercial en Honduras” (“commercial arbitration in Honduras) in  El Arbitraje Comercial Internacional en Iberoamérica: Marco Legal y Jurisprudencial (“International Commercial Arbitration in Latin America: Legal Framework and Jurisprudence”) published by by La Ley, part of the Wolters Kluwer group, in September 2009.

He speaks Spanish and English.
