Florian Haugeneder is a partner at KNOETZL, a leading law firm in arbitration, litigation, alternative dispute resolution, business crime, and corporate crisis management. Before moving on to co-found KNOETZL in 2016, Florian was the head of the arbitration practice of an international law firm.
Florian has extensive experience as counsel and arbitrator under the rules of the major arbitral institutions, including the ICC, ICSID, SCC, and VIAC, as well as in international and domestic ad-hoc arbitration. He has successfully represented major construction and infrastructure clients in some of the largest and most complex disputes in the CEE and SEE regions. A special focus of his practice is the international law on the protection of foreign investments.
Florian’s practice specialises in engineering and construction, energy, as well as commercial and corporate disputes. His construction and engineering experience includes, among others, a dam project, an airport reconstruction, the construction of a major fibre-optic cable infrastructure, various thermal power plants and the rehabilitation of a railway line and a sewer system in CEE and SEE countries. Florian has advised on a large number of FIDIC and joint venture contracts.
Florian is recommended in Chambers Global, Chambers Europe and JUVE. He is a board member of the Austrian Arbitration Association (ArbAut). He lectures at the University of Vienna and frequently speaks and publishes on international arbitration and investment protection. He has recently been recognised in Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration – Future Leaders.
