Yann Utzschneider is a partner at White & Case. He was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1997.
Yann has acquired an extensive experience in all areas of French and European competition law. He regularly represents clients in cartels, vertical restraints and abuse of dominant position cases in various economic sectors such as consumer goods, retail distribution and banking. For instance, Yann recently assisted Sara-Lee and obtained significant commitments from Nespresso before the French Competition Authority. He also played a major role on merger cases such as Casino/Monoprix.
Yann has also developed a respected practice in major litigation relating to distribution and consumer law. He has notably advised leading food retail firms.
Yann Utzschneider represents both French and foreign companies before the European and national competition authorities as well as before French courts. He is currently in charge of various EU investigations and compliance programmes, and often publishes articles in his areas of expertise.
Yann is a member of the board of the French Association for Competition Studies (AFEC). He is a former Secrétaire de la Conférence.
