Eytan Epstein is a senior partner at M Firon & Co Eytan specialises in antitrust law and in corporate, commercial and trade law. Since 2002, Eytan has repeatedly been listed in Who’s Who Legal in the competition section. Eytan has also been repeatedly elected by leading research organisations, such as Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500 as one of the leading competition law practitioners in Israel.
Eytan was born in 1955. He received his law degree from the Faculty of Law at Tel Aviv University (1984) and, after being admitted to the Israel bar (1985), he worked in DG IV (competition) in Brussels. When he returned to Israel (1989) he established his law firm. Eytan served as lecturer and assistant professor at the Tel Aviv University Law School and as a lecturer of EC competition and international trade law at the Tel Aviv Business College.
Eytan served as a member of the Israeli government committee for the preparation of Israel towards the establishment of European Union (1992) and was a member of the foreign trade committees of the Manufacturers Association, the Israel CPA Association and the Israel Chambers of Commerce.
Eytan has been a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) since 1990, and served until 2000 as co-chair of the international sales committee. Eytan is presently member of the IBA's bar issues commission. In 2008 Eytan was nominated for a special task force formed by the IBA that commented on the Draft Non-Horizontal Merger Guidelines issued by the European Commission. In 2013 Eytan was nominated for a special task force formed by the IBA that commented on the Draft Guidelines of the Disclosure of Confidential Information in Due Diligence Processes, issued by the Israel Antitrust Authority. Eytan was the Israeli bar’s representative to the Knesset (the Israeli parliament) with respect to all economic and antitrust issues (2006-2011). Eytan has been the representative of the Israeli bar to the IBA since 2001.
Eytan has published numerous articles on antitrust and the legal environment of Israel’s foreign trade. Inter alia, Eytan is the author of the chapters on Israel in the Oceana Digest of Commercial Laws of the World (Kluwer Law, 2000), Warranties and Disclaimers (Kluwer Law and the IBA, 2002) and The Private Competition Enforcement Review (Law Business Research, 2008). Eytan is the co-author of Competition Law in Israel (Wolters Kluwer, 2015).
