Kristian Hugmark is head of Roschier's EU and competition practice in Sweden. Kristian practises all areas of competition law and state aid in Sweden and in the EU, across all industries. He is also experienced in regulatory matters, in particular related to the transport and telecom industries.
Before joining Roschier in 2015, Kristian was based in Brussels for some 13 years, working both for the European Commission's DG Comp and in private practice. In Sweden, he inter alia represented Orkla in the acquisition of Cederroth and the complainant trade association of spare part suppliers and independent repairers in the KIA warranty case before the Market Court. In Brussels, he represented United in the merger with Continental as well as in the transatlantic JV with Air Canada, Continental and Lufthansa. He also worked with several high-profile cartels such as the LCD, DRAMs, Air Cargo and Smart Card cartels. On the competition/regulatory side, Kristian represented the entire liner shipping industry in the review of the liner shipping block exemption.
Kristian is recognised as one of the leading experts within EU and competition law in Sweden by international legal directories such as Chambers Europe.
Kristian was educated at the University of Uppsala and the Catholic University of Leuven.
Roschier's EU and competition team comprises of four partners and 11 associates located in Helsinki and Stockholm.
