Biography:

Who's Who Legal Competition: Future Leaders - Non Partners

Nicholas Scola has been a managing associate in Linklaters’ global competition practice since 2013, based in London.

Nick advises clients on EU, UK and international competition law across multiple sectors, with particular expertise in the financial, industrial and commodity sectors. He advises on the full range of competition matters including global merger control, UK merger control, behavioural matters at EU and UK level, and market studies in the UK.

Prior to joining Linklaters, Nick was a deputy director of mergers at the Office of Fair Trading (OFT, a predecessor organisation to the UK Competition and Markets Authority). In that role, he worked on the analysis and delivery of UK Phase 1 merger cases, including the negotiation and implementation of remedies, as well as having responsibility for legal and policy input into the OFT’s merger guidance publications (both procedural and substantive).

Nick was educated at Oxford University and was admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales in 2003.

Linklaters is an international law firm with offices throughout the world. Linklaters’ competition practice is made up of over 150 lawyers based across Europe, the USA and Asia. Our competition lawyers provide advice and assistance on all aspects of competition law and have successfully represented clients in their dealings with competition agencies and in antitrust litigation.

WWL says: Nicholas Scola is a “true merger-control specialist” who “knows the UK regime inside out and is very pleasant to work with”.
