Dr Michael Cragg is chairman of The Brattle Group. He has extensive consulting, research, and expert witness experience in antitrust, financial services, and valuation matters. He has testified in state and federal courts as well as in regulatory proceedings nationwide with a focus on leading teams in complex litigation.
Dr Cragg has assisted corporations, the US Department of Justice, and the Federal Trade Commission in various antitrust and competition matters across many industries, including financial services, pharmaceuticals, medical device, and high-tech. He recently assisted the FTC in the Mylan pharmaceutical matter, which resulted in the largest antitrust settlement at the time. Additionally, Dr Cragg developed testimony in various MasterCard/Visa antitrust litigations and served as a testifying expert on market power in the dispute brought by United and American Airlines against the City of Chicago.
Prior to joining the Brattle Group, Dr Cragg was a professor at Columbia University and UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, as well as a former partner at Bates White and a vice president at Analysis Group. Dr Cragg currently serves as the co-editor of The Economists’ Voice.
