Who's Who Legal Competition: Lawyers

Hagai is the chair of the firm’s antitrust and competition law practice, and is widely acknowledged as one of Israel's leading antitrust lawyers.

Hagai's extensive experience includes advising on civil and criminal investigations by the Israel Antitrust Authority (including market, oligopoly, monopoly and cartel investigations), challenging monopoly declarations, merger control, collaborative joint ventures, distribution strategy, cartels, dominance, licensing, and class actions involving breaches of Israel’s antitrust laws, in particular acting for clients on damages and class action claims which seek substantial damages following a finding, whether from the US, the Europe Union or Israel, of a contravention of competition law. Hagai also has substantial experience co-coordinating with foreign counsel on Israeli antitrust and merger clearances for global and cross border mergers, joint ventures, strategic alliances and other collaborative arrangements.

He advises on both non-contentious and contentious issues and has extensive experience resolving and litigating competition disputes before the Restrictive Trade Practices Tribunal and at all levels of Israel's civil courts.

Hagai's clients are from a wide range of industry sectors, including the pharmaceuticals, banking and financial services, technology, consumer healthcare, energy, retail, defence, telecommunications, insurance, aviation, media and automotive manufacturing industries.

Hagai is ranked as a leader in his field by European Legal Experts and Chambers Global. The Legal 500 Europe, Middle East & Africa recommends Hagai in the field of competition, saying: “The ‘extremely intelligent’ Hagai Doron impresses with his ‘creative thinking and legal strategy’”.

Hagai is a member of the IBA and of the Lex Mundi antitrust and competition practice group. He is author of the Israel chapter of the Competition Law Handbook. Hagai graduated in 1996 from Haifa University (LLB cum laude; BA Economics, magna cum laude).

WWL says: Commended by clients as the "premier choice for dealing with complex and challenging antitrust matters in Israel"
