Juliana Abrusio is a partner at Opice Blum, Bruno, Abrusio e Vainzof Advogados. Her main practice areas are: intellectual property, media and entertainment, education on the internet, digital compliance, electoral law and information security.
She is earning her PhD in law philosophy at Pontifícia Universidade Católica (PUC/SP) and has a master’s degree in private law from Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata / European Union scholarship (Alfa Rete Omnem Project) and law degree from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie.
Ms Abrusio is the vice president of the technology and information commission of Instituto dos Advogados de São Paulo (IASP) and member of the Laboratory for Studies in Ethics in Electronic Means (LEEME). Despite her intensive participation on the board, Ms Abrusio is also a professor of digital law for graduates and post graduates at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, and is a visiting lecturer for the law and technology information course of the extension education programme of Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (POLI/USP) and INSPER. Her expertise also allows her to lecture at many seminars and summits.
Juliana is a member of the São Paulo section of the Brazilian Bar Association, international law section of the American Bar Association (ABA), and coordinator of the digital committee of the Centro de Estudos das Sociedades de Advogados (CESA).
Ms Abrusio is the author of important articles related to digital issues published in important publications, and co-author of many books including Marco Civil da Internet, Manual de Direito Digital e Internet and Educação Digital, Riscos Legais e Responsabilidades, among others.
She speaks Portuguese, English and Italian.
