Mustafa Hadi is BRG’s head of disputes and international arbitration for Greater China and North Asia, and is based in Hong Kong. He specialises in advising on matters of valuation, damages, and accounting issues in commercial disputes. He has experience of disputes involving breach of contract, shareholders and joint ventures, M&A transactions, capital markets, intellectual property, and investor-state cases.

Mr Hadi has been instructed as an expert witness and has given oral testimony before both national courts and international arbitrations. His experience spans matters in the courts of the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, the Cayman Islands, the BVI, Bermuda, and the Bahamas, and arbitrations involving the ICC, UNCITRAL, DIAC, HKIAC and CIETAC.

Mr Hadi holds an MA (Hons) in physics from Cambridge University. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Academy of Experts. He regularly presents to law firms and at industry events on damages and valuation issues. He has acted as an expert witness at workshops organised by the Foundation for International Arbitration Advocacy and as a guest lecturer to LLM students at Hong Kong University.

In addition to his contentious work, Mr Hadi provides valuation advice for strategic, restructuring and tax purposes and has advised clients on business strategy, commercial due diligence, market analysis, financial modelling, and in regulatory matters.

Mr Hadi has been based in Hong Kong since 2012.

WWL says: Mustafa Hadi is internationally recognised as one of the key figures in the Hong Kong arbitration space, particularly for shareholder and JV disputes. He combines exceptional technical proficiency in valuation and damages matters with an engaging and credible presence in oral testimony.
