What motivated you to become a lawyer?

As a young boy, I wanted to be a tractor driver. I am, however, a third-generation lawyer after my father and grandfather and, honestly, I did not consider any other option seriously.

How do you try to distinguish yourself and your practice?

Through reliability and accuracy.

What challenges are currently facing practitioners in the sector?

Misinformation leading to unjustified hostility in public opinion against investment arbitration.

You have sat as an arbitrator and acted as counsel on a wide variety of disputes, have you consciously attempted to maintain a broad practice?

No. I have always focused on investment arbitration.

In your opinion, how do you anticipate that the practice of international arbitration will adapt to overcome these obstacles?

Through conscious attempts to rectify misconceptions in the press.

A number of practitioners have reported that competition in the field only seems to be increasing. Is this something that you have noticed? How can practitioners stand out in a crowded market?

I have not experienced that problem myself. I have the privilege to be able to accept as much work as I can accomplish.
